Use of worm gear reducers
A worm gear reducer is an independent, closed transmission device between a prime mover and a driven machine. It is used to reduce speed and increase torque to meet operational needs. In some applications, it is also used to increase speed, and is called a speed increaser. When selecting a reducer, factors such as the working machine's operating conditions, technical parameters, the power machine's performance, and economic considerations should be taken into account. The external dimensions, transmission efficiency, load-bearing capacity, weight, and price of different types and varieties of reducers should be compared to select the most suitable reducer. I. Classification of Worm Gear Reducers There are many categories, varieties, and types of worm gear reducers. Currently, more than 40 types of reducers have been standardized into industry (national) standards. Reducer categories are based on the gear tooth profile and tooth contour curve used; reducer varieties are reducers with different structures designed according to application needs; reducer types are designed based on the basic structure according to factors such as tooth surface hardness, number of transmission stages, output shaft type, assembly type, installation type, and connection type…
