Learn the basics of drive sprockets

The sprocket is divided into active sprocket and driven sprocket, the active sprocket is mounted on the engine output shaft through the form of spline; the driven sprocket is mounted on the motorcycle driving wheel, and passes the power to the driving wheel through the chain, generally the active sprocket is smaller than the driven sprocket, and it can play a role in the effect of decreasing speed and increasing the torsion.

Performance characteristics of drive sprockets

① Selection of materials - Both large and small sprockets are stamped and molded with high-quality carbon structural steel.

②Machining and processing technology--Adopted advanced milling tooth processing technology, which makes the tooth shape more accurate. The whole sprocket is tempered and heat-treated, which greatly improves its comprehensive mechanical properties, and the hardness of the teeth reaches above 68-72HRA, which significantly improves the wear resistance of the sprocket. The surface is sprayed and plated.

③Product series - economical and practical ordinary sprockets and high-quality sprockets with superior performance.

Disassembly and assembly of sprockets

1、Active sprocket

The active sprocket is bonded to the engine output shaft in the form of a spline and is secured by a spline stopper or nut. When disassembling, the sprocket cover can be removed, the chain removed, and the small sprocket can be pulled out by unscrewing the spline stopper or fixing nut. For assembly, proceed in the reverse order.

2、Slave sprocket

① Support the main braces so that the rear wheels are cocked.

② Loosen the rear axle tightening nut and adjuster nut, and remove the chain box and chain.

③ Remove the rear brake lever and pull the rear wheel assembly out together.

④ Remove the bolts, nuts or retaining rings holding the sprocket, and remove the sprocket from the rear hub or pin bolt.

⑤ When installing, proceed in the reverse order. And tighten the sprocket fixing nut or bolt (30-50N. M) and the rear axle nut (50-80N. M) according to the specified torque.
